Introduction
Crusher bronze bushings reduce friction between moving parts in cone and gyratory crushers. Produced by centrifugal casting from C93800, C93700, and other copper alloys. Dense, void-free grain structure.
Process Overview
Centrifugal casting rotates a mold at high speed while molten metal is poured in. Centrifugal force pushes the metal outward, producing a uniform distribution through the mold cavity. The result is a dense, homogeneous casting with minimal porosity.
Steps in Centrifugal Casting
1. Mold Preparation: The mold is made of a refractory material that can withstand high temperatures and has the desired inner shape of the bushing. It is lined with a release agent to facilitate easy removal of the casting.
2. Melting Process: The copper is melted in a furnace to reach a precise temperature suitable for casting.
3. Centrifugal Casting: The molten copper is poured into the rotating mold. The centrifugal force pushes the molten metal against the mold walls, forming a solid casting. The rotation speed determines the thickness and uniformity of the bushing.
4. Cooling and Solidification: The casting is allowed to cool inside the rotating mold. The controlled cooling rate promotes a fine-grained structure, improving the mechanical properties of the bushing.
5. Finishing: Once solidified, the casting is removed from the mold and undergoes finishing processes such as trimming, machining, and heat treatment to achieve the desired dimensions and properties.
Key properties of centrifugally cast bushings:
High density — Centrifugal force packs metal tightly against the mold wall. Density typically exceeds 99.5% of theoretical.
Low porosity — Air and gas inclusions migrate to the inner surface and are machined away during finishing.
Fine grain structure — Controlled cooling rate produces a uniform microstructure. Better wear resistance and fatigue life vs. static-cast equivalents.
Efficient for production runs — Multiple bushings cast per cycle. Lower tooling cost vs. permanent mold or die casting.
Applications
Centrifugal casting is widely used for producing crusher copper bushings in various industries, including:
Mining and Quarrying
Metal Processing
Cement Manufacturing
Concrete Production
Recycling and Waste Management
Centrifugal casting produces dense, uniform bushings with a fine grain structure. Suitable for medium to large production runs. Consistent mechanical properties across the batch. Bushings up to 4 tons, 2.5 meters diameter.
Centrifugal casting capacity: up to 4 tons (weight), 2.5 meters (diameter).
